ATTICA — M. June (Howard) Kiger, 87, 310 Market St., Attica, died at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2006 in her residence. She was born May 31, 1919 in Vermilion County, Ill., the daughter of Archibald and Victoria (Duez) Howard. She married Elden L. Kiger June 4, 1937 in Attica. He preceded in death Jan. 17, 1987. She had attended Attica High School. She formerly lived in Lafayette for 30 years and moved back to Attica in 1982. She and her husband operated apartment rentals. She had attended Bethel Community Church. She was a former member of the Women of the Moose Lodge #23 and the Women of the Moose Academy of Friendship, both of Attica. Survivors include: two daughters, Victoria Houser and Pamela Kiger, both of Attica; two brothers, Victor Howard and Elston Howard, both of Attica; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Karen Kiger; a step daughter, Barbara Kiger; three sisters, Beatrice, Alma and Virginia; and five brothers, Emerson, Russell, Wesley, Arthur, and Archie Howard. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Saturday in Maus Funeral Home, Attica, with Tim Snavely officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Attica.
